Xeronine and Proxeronine

After Dr. Ralph Heinicke received his doctorate in biochemistry, he accepted a research job with the Dole pineapple company in Hawaii. Dole wanted to know what it was about pineapple that caused it to prevent gelatine deserts from hardening. Their hope was that it was a particular molecule which could be extracted. Dr. Heinicke soon realized their hopes by identifying the protein bromelain. He then developed an extraction method and Dole soon found itself with over a thousand pounds of waste bromelain extract daily. Dole asked Dr. Heinicke to find an application for bromelain and he soon found evidence that it had significant health benefits when consumed.

However, when he refined the bromelain extract, Dr. Heinicke found that the health benefits decreased the more pure it became. Hence, the most pure bromelain solution only had 5% of the biological potency of its crude form. This led Dr. Heinicke to believe that the active ingredient in the extract was not the bromelain, but rather some other compound. Eventually, he isolated a chemical called an alkaloid. Alkaloids are an important class of phytochemicals which are often used to produce drugs from natural sources. Dr. Heinicke decided to name his newly-discovered alkaloid Xeronine.

Soon, Dr. Heinicke had compiled evidence suggesting that Xeronine is not only a powerful natural medicine, but is actually an essential chemical in the human body. Dr. Heinicke’s theory is that Xeronine works to repair cells at the molecular level. In particular, he argues that Xeronine regulates the rigidity and shape of different proteins. Since proteins often depend on maintaining a very specific shape to do their work in the body, this would make Xeronine a very important chemical to human health. This would also explain why Xeronine is associated with helping such a diverse set of health conditions. According to Dr. Heinicke, high blood pressure, menstrual cramps, arthritis, gastric ulcers, sprains, injuries, mental depression, senility, poor digestion, atherosclerosis, blood vessel problems, drug addiction, and pain are only some of the conditions Xeronine can help. (Note: Some scientific evidence supports Dr. Heicke’s claims, however the FDA has determined that this evidence is limited and not conclusive.)

Dr. Heinicke also reported discovering another chemical which he named Proxeronine. Proxeronine is the precursor to Xeronine in the body, meaning that it becomes Xeronine in the intestines when it comes into contact with a particular enzyme. According to Dr. Heinicke, both Proxeronine and this enzyme are abundant in Noni juice. While the body does produce Xeronine, its production is fairly low and varies according to environmental conditions and the person’s mental and emotional state. For example, the more stress and negative emotions one experiences, the less Xeronine the body will produce. On the other hand, Xeronine production rises with exposure to art or literature.

Proving the Xeronine Thesis

In order to prove Xeronine’s essential nature, Dr. Heinicke set up an innovative experiment. He had recently discovered that Xeronine chemically resembles Tetradotoxin, the most powerful neurotoxin known. Tetradotoxin is the toxic part of blowfish venom, and causes rapid death if consumed in even very small quantities. Dr. Heinicke realized that the reason our bodies take up toxins is that the toxic molecules are chemically similar to other molecules which we use and need. For example, morphine fools the brain by mimicking endorphines, while amphetamines resemble serotonin. However, if the body has a choice between the actual chemical and a pretender, it will accept the chemical it wants and not the pretender.

If Dr. Heinicke was right and Xeronine was essential to health, then he knew that the body would accept Xeronine and not Tetradotoxin if exposed to both at the same time. He set up his experiment with three groups of mice. The first group was given a lethal dose of Tetradotoxin, and all of these mice quickly died. The second group received Xeronine and all of these mice survived without any new health problems. The third group was given a mixture of the doses given to the first and second groups.

Not only did these mice survive, they showed no ill effects from the injection. Most mice, when injected in the abdomen, will curl up in a corner of the cage to recover. The mice in the third group, however, appeared alert, active, and pain-free.

This would indicate that these mice were not absorbing the lethal dose of Tetradotoxin, since they did not die. This would confirm Dr. Heinicke’s thesis that Xeronine is an essential nutrient. Dr. Heinicke concludes that the nervous systems of the third group of mice had accepted the Xeronine, which then blocked the Tetradotoxin. The lethal dose of neurotoxin then passed harmlessly through their bodies. This experiment appears to confirm Dr. Heinicke’s thesis that Xeronine is an essential biochemical which leads to strong health.
